Second to last post on the main archaeological sites of Athens. This time I visit the Kerameikos, located a few steps from Thisseio metro station.

Kerameikos & Museum
(entry 2€ / included in the special package ticket)
Kerameikos (Keramikòs) is a necropolis of the city of Athens, in use since the end of the twelfth century BC until the Roman and Byzantine periods (sixth century).
Not very popular with tourists, perhaps because a cemetery, though it is ancient, does not attract that much, is not for sure one of the most important attractions. However, it can be a pleasant walk if you have a little time to spare. The museum within the site is small, but interesting, attention it is closed on Mondays.
The panoramic view was taken in the early afternoon, from outside of the site. All other images were taken in the morning
