Archaelogical Athens: Hadrian’s Library and Roman Agora

I continue with two other archaeological sites, both included the unified ticket and very close to the metro station of Monastiraki. Although they probably are not up to other archaeological sites they are worth a visit.

Hadrian’s Library

(entrance 2€ / included in the special ticket package)

Atene, biblioteca di AdrianoHadrian’s Library is located just in front of the metro exit, in Monastiraki Square. Having the unified ticket, it is worth entering the site for having the most suggestive angles to photograph the remains and also to have access to the imposing statue of Victoria Romana ( Niki ). Following from the outside the perimeter of the site you will also have some great views. Most ‘interesting’ light for taking pictures begins just after midday.

Roman Agora

(entrance 2€ / included in the special ticket package)

Atene, Agora RomanaThe Roman Agora is located a little further south of Hadrian’s library and has two entrances. Also in this case, following the external perimeter gives excellent views of the site. The tower of the winds is not open to the public and it is uncertain when and if it will reopen.
