Crete, Agioi ApostoliCrete, Agioi ApostoliWe leave Chania behind us, but just outside the city we go to check out a stopover spot recommended by a motorhomer friend of ours, located in Agioi Apostoli [35.51403,23.97770], on a small promontory, in a beautiful location between two creeks. The beaches are equipped with showers and WC, there are no foreign tourists, but it is quite busy with families and retired from early morning. It is still a good stop to stay close to Chania, but out of the noise of the city.
We pass in front of the camping Hania [35.51157,23.98442] and get in to have a look. The cost is € 22 for two people and motorhome, all inclusive. It also works as a camper service with price to be discussed. The location is not the greatest, but for those who need it has all the facilities that can be needed.

Crete, Vouves olive museumWe continue on our way, but soon we take another detour when we see the signs for Vouves, where we know that they recently opened a museum of olive [35.48669,23.78632], next to what appears to be the oldest olive tree in Greece. A natural monument of more than three thousand years ago, planted in the pre-Minoan era.

After a brief visit to the museum, back on the road to the east, but we stop again to visit two more campings, this time in a much more touristy area. Neither works as a camper service and both offer all the services in the same price range as the first campsite.
Here we also discovered that the campsites association have a special offer: those who stay in six different campsites on the island, are entitled to a free night in the seventh one. To take advantage of the deal you have to ask the map of the association from the first campsite where you stop and ask them to put a stamp in the space provided and then get the map stamped by every campsite where you stay. Good to know …
We pull straight for Falasarna …

Crete, Nopigia CampingCrete, Nopigia Camping
Above Camping Nopigia [35.50935,23.71995] Great place, the beach in front is not the best, but nice pool and friendly owners!
Below the Camping Mithimna [35.50261,23.70259] Here too nice structure, all facilities, plenty of shade and the beach is slightly better than Nopigia’s.
