Kalogria: Sea and Nature

Kalogria, Beach
kalogriaThe recent visit to the camper stop Kalogria made me discover a little corner of Greece that combines nature, sea, archeology and sports activities. Less than 50 kilometers south of Patras, it is definitely a stop worth adding to the itinerary.

Kalogria, BeachThere is something for everyone: the nature reserve and Strofylia forest, a huge beach with sand dunes and spectacular sea, the ruins of the Dymaean Wall, surfing, climbing, cycling routes through the woods, around the lagoon and along the rivers. The only slight problem is the mosquitoes, which abound of course, but the trouble is minimal taking the necessary precautions πŸ˜‰

Kalogria, BeachWe chose to sleep in the northern parking lot of the beach enjoying the fabulous sunset over the sea. [N 38.162248, E 21.365886] Theoretically it would be forbidden to stay overnight, but as usual, if done with discretion and in low season, it is tolerated. Forbidden instead is staying overnight, in all seasons, in the other car parks to the south, which are within the protected natural park area.
