Katehaki metro station parking

katehaki01katehaki03An optimum solution to be close to the center. Katehàki station is located on blue metro line, 5 stops from Sìndagma sq. The parking is free, and from 07.00 to 15.00 is also guarded. Practically located between two large hospitals, the area is quite safe, lively and patrolled by police. At the corner near the entrance of the metro there is a kiosk (Periptero) open 24 hours.
It may be hard to find free places during working hours, but after 20.00 it begins to get empty. I’ve not spent the night there, but I’ve been there at different times of the day and I thought it was a convenient and strategic location. It is a bit noisy as it is located near a major intersection, but it did not seem excessive. Not recommended for motor homes over 6 meters.
A curiosity: the impressive, modern pedestrian bridge just next door is a work of Santiago Calatrava, a positive memory of the 2004 Olympics.

It is a bit further from the center, easily accessible from highways. It is a fee parking, again not recommended for motor homes over 6 meters. The prices are decent, the day is divided into three time periods: morning (06.00 – 15.00), afternoon (13.00 – 23.00, at night (23:00 to 6:00) and each strip costs 2.40 €. There are also intermediate rates, however, I will not complicate things, in the worst case it will cost you € 9.20 / 24h. You will probably find a place to park at all hours of the day.
The parking is guarded and open from 6 am to 1 am, then the doors close and no one can enter or exit (like a prison), but from what they told us it is allowed to stay overnight for motor homes. Not reccomended to claustrophobic people! If you don’t like the idea to saty in for the night, since it is in a residential area, you can leave the motorhome guarded by day and for the night you can just move in any street nearby to sleep. It is closed on Sundays.
