Along the lake of Constance (part I)

Friedrichshafen
europe_germanyWe leave Bregenz behind and before realizing it we passed the former border and we find ourselves in Germany, where we will follow the lake up to Konstanz, making a few stops. In this post, the island of Lindau, Friedrichshafen (the town of Zeppelin) and Meersburg (city of wines).

Around The Lake Of ConstanceWe arrive at Lindau with a torrential downpour. Too bad, we decide not to walk around the beautiful town where we had already been a few years ago. So we go directly to the camper stop to drain and refill the tanks after the long stop in Bregenz. The photos of Lindau are from our previous trip.

LindauOn the side, the camper stop in Lindau [47.55915,9.70086], a bit expensive for my taste: 3 € for the first two hours plus a euro for each additional hour, or € 20 for 24 hours. Sanistation you pay separately, € 0.50 for emptying the WC, € 0.50 for potable water. From here there is a bus that takes you to Lindau, 1.6 km for only 2€…

LindauThis is an RV park a bit out from Lindau (4.5km) [47.53780,9.73140], it costs € 10 for 24 hours, the maximum allowed.
It is located directly opposite the entrance to the Park-Camping Lindau, am See, practically attached to the train tracks!

FriedrichshafenWe continue in the rain, with destination Friedrichshafen , about 20 km away, stop not to be missed for lovers of technology and aviation, as this is the city the first Zeppelin were made and where now you can learn the history by visiting the museum dedicated to them. Entry costs € 8 per person, there are discounts for young and old.

FriedrichshafenFriedrichshafenHere on the side two pictures of the camper stop in Friedrichshafen [47.65026,9.49602], prices are a bit more normal and it is close to the museum, which is just over one kilometer along the seafront. The area is a bit noisy because it is located on the side of a main road. The stay costs 0,60 € / hour during the day, 1.20 € / hour in the night or 12 € / 24 hours with maximum stay of 3 days. Sanistation € 1 for water, free drainage.
We did not intend of staying overnight an we parked for free in one of the cross roads near the center [47.65385,9.49161], another option is the parking lot of the harbor, near the museum, one cent per minute, but prohibited to motorhomes from 18.00 to 8.00.

Around The Lake Of ConstanceContinuing towards Konstanz, we pass from the pretty town of Meersburg, with its castles and its famous wines. We did not stop for this time always because of the bad weather, but I have some pictures from our previous trip, I guess not much has changed. 😉 Also here there are a couple of camper stops even more convenient, but I did not visited them in person.
