Once we set foot in the beaches Limnionas and Armiriki we realised that they both belong to the category “love it or hate it”. We ‘hated’ it for the obvious reasons. Too much crowded, too much noisy… Yet you should bear in mind that our visit took place in the second week of August, so perhaps we exaggerate things a little! Anyway we moved to the next beach Zarakes which is not bad at all, less beautiful but much more suitable for longer stays.

Euboea, two wonderful beaches
We leave behind us Karystos in search of our next destination. We first check out the nearby beaches of the west coast which I rate ‘average’. Nothing to complain nor to get excited about! Not our taste anyway, so we head to the east coast for which we have already heard words of praise. They are right! Euboea, far south
We decided to go to Euboea literally at the last minute and, as if that was not enough, during peak season, the second week of August! It turned out to be the best choice. This so far ‘off the tourist radar’ island has endless beaches with sapphire-blue water and plenty of space to enjoy wild camping. Although we had planned to explore the entire island, we managed to check out only the south and a part of the center. There are good reasons to return!
