On our way up north, although the weather was not the best, we decided to make a short stop at the famous Lake Como. We stayed just a couple of nights, enough to get a little taste of the beauty of this corner of Italy, before moving to Switzerland. Despite being the middle of winter, it was not easy at all to find a place where to stay overnight for free! I don’t even want to think about what a nightmare would be in the high season …

Milano in camper! It can be done!
Big cities are not ideal destinations to visit in a camper van. The parking areas are usually expensive or inconvenient to get downtown, park for free may not be very safe, especially not knowing the neighborhood of the city’s. But with a little luck and the right directions you can do. We stopped in Milan for almost a week, for free and without any problems …
Treviglio, a relaxed stopover
Here’s another of our stops off the beaten path. The truth is that we don’t even know how we came to Treviglio! We were looking for a quiet and safe place to spend the night on the outskirts of Milan and the choice was random, but lucky… The parking area is peaceful, free of charge and friendly and the city is well worth a stroll through the streets of downtown.
