Heading towards north, after a visit to a friend’s house near Monzuno, we decided to stay a little longer in the area and to visit Grizzana Morandi and the surrounding places. As it often happens, you never know what surprises are around the corner! In our case it was the Rocchetta Mattei. Hard to believe that this surrealistic castle is just a few kilometers from Bologna!

San Leo
According to the town’s tourist brochure (reproducing a quotation from Umberto Eco), this is the most beautiful city of the entire Italy! Who could resist the temptation of visiting this highly recommended place? It is located in a distance of 100 km from Rimini and although Eco’s praise is a bit overstated, San Leo once known as Montefeltro deserves at least a half-day visit. Besides it has in the past also been capital of Italy!
The Devil’s Town
We had long wanted to visit this Cappadocian-style site of Serbia, conveniently situated just a few kilometers from the route we usually take to go from Greece to Italy. For some strange reason (call it bad weather…) we always had to postpone our visit. This time, we finally did it!
