The valley of Tempe, Tembi or as they call it in Greece, it is a narrow gorge between Mount Olympus and Mount Ossa, crossed by the river Pinio. In the middle of the gorge is the famous monastery of Agia Paraskevi, a place of pilgrimage and classic stop for those who take the highway between Larissa and Katerini. Besancon, city of watches (I)
From wines of Alsace to the watches of Besancon. On our way back to Italy we decided to make a stop at Besancon. The city is not particularly famous, popular among the French as the city of watchmakers, in reality it can also boast of being the birthplace of Victor Hugo and the Lumiere Brothers. A good find, do not miss if you are in the area!
At Zeus’ home
I take the opportunity, returning from Thessaloniki to stop and visit Dion, but apparently the gods do not want us. For the second time we find the site closed and we have to get over it. We then try to go up to Mount Olympus following signs that indicate ‘waterfalls’, but even here…
