It ‘s an experience reserved to the lucky few. The opportunity to cross the Corinth Canal does not happen every day to ordinary people. We had this chance because we were doing some filming for a documentary and we were allowed to board a tugboat and make the journey. Driven by our “Triton,” a huge commercial ship under Turkish flag (if memory serves). The route does not last long, about twenty minutes and the visual experience is unique. Until a few years ago it was possible to make the crossing with a tourist boat taht did it 2/3 times a day, but apparently there was not enough demand and they stopped. The boat is still there, but it is available only to organized groups.
