These are in my opinion the two monasteries to visit for those who have little time or prefer to take advantage of the spectacular place to get some beautiful walks. At the worse the Great Meteoro is enough to get a fairly complete idea of how the other monasteries works and their very little spiritual and more touristic/museal atmosphere. Do I sound bad? It gets worse!

Nestorio, river party!
Another rainy day and we resign ourselves to go and visit Nestorio, a small village about 25 km from Kastoria, where is held a famous summer music festival on the river Aliakmona. We take advantage of the facilities to make a camper service and then go to visit a unique church…
Kastoria, city on the lake
Kastoria is a small and quiet city in northern Greece, built on a peninsula on Lake Orestiada at about 700 meters above sea level. Well-known, unfortunately, for the production of fur, it is definitely worth a visit to appreciate the architecture of the old quarters as DolciĆ², its more than fifty Byzantine churches and not least, the lake with its nature.
