Anafiotika is a small neighborhood, very unique, literally leaning against the rock of the Acropolis of Athens, which resembles in all respects an island of the Cyclades. Its name is due to the fact that it was built by workers from the island of Anafi that came to Athens in order to work as constructor workers in the refurbishment of King Othon’s Palace in the middle of 1800.
