Searching for the best ‘tiropites’ (cheese pies) in Athens, all roads lead to downtown! Although it is rather unlikely that you will be disappointed if you choose any central bakery or snack cafe (there are everywhere, even in the most tourist areas), certain places have earned a reputation among Athenians and there is a good reason for that. I selected three of them plus four snack cafes where you can try lοukοumàdes, the Greek doughnut.

Street food in Athens (the traditional way…)
Tiropites, koulouria, loukoumades … Walking around the streets of Athens it’s hard not to notice the countless shops, bakeries, cafes, bars, plus street vendors selling tempting foodstuffs. As appealing as they may be, the fact that they are so many and various and that it’s not easy to identify the ingredients, it may discourage the less experienced, especially the vegetarians… It would be such a pity not to taste some!
Athens: Museum of Islamic Art
The Benaki Museum of Islamic Art is one of the smaller and lesser-known museums of Athens. Located close to Thission, metro station is of particular interest to better understand the close link between Greece and Asia Minor. In summer the coffee shop on the terrace is a nice place to rest for a moment enjoying the view of the Acropolis and Ceramic archaeological site.
