This majestic temple, considered by UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected by a circus tent (!), is lost in the mountains on the border between Ilia, Messinia and Arcadia. For those who decide to spend some time in the hinterland of the Peloponnese, this is a mandatory stop.

The temple is located 14 kilometers from Andritsena, a picturesque mountain village on the road connecting the east coast of the Peloponnese to Megalopolis.
The first feature that catches the eye is the not very orthodox protection, chosen to repair it from the bad weather mostly due to the considerable altitude of the site at more than 1100 meters. The impression you get when you step in, is that the temple is much larger than it is objectively. The shadows and the background music create a magical atmosphere. The temple is in excellent condition and its beauty is also due to the fact that it was built by Ictinus, the author of the Parthenon of the Acropolis of Athens.
The entrance costs 3 € and the site is open from 8:00 am to sunset every day.
