A stretch of coast a little more than 60 kilometers long, which although is not one of the best in Greece, offers some beautiful beaches and some traps. Nefpaktos instead is a gem where, if you manage to park, it is worth to spend at least a few hours walking around the fortress and the old port.

Just outside Galaxidi, in the direction of Nafpaktos, you will see a beach that from above looks really nice. Anemokambi [N 38.35122, E 22.38019] is situated in a small bay, in an area dedicated to fish farming. As if that was not enough, at the entrance of the bay a little factory works at full speed processing and packing it. As a result, the water is not very clean and full of seaweed. To carefully avoid!
Agios Vassileos [N 38.347084,E 22.359017] instead, a little further down the raod, has a wonderful sea and although a bit crowded in high season, it is a great stopover point, complete with a little tavern. Do not let the dirt road at the exit from the main road to the beach scare you,after about a hundred meters it gets back to being perfectly paved.
On the beach there are half a dozen caravans that have put down roots taking the best places, but there is still room for everyone and with a little bit of brain, everybody can be comfortable 🙂
Tolofonas [N 38.342464, E 22.200575] plenty of parking along the sea, beautiful beach, but very exposed and when we went there (in the first half of August) it was impracticable due to of the strong wind.
Monastiraki (Blue Lake) [N 38.406556, E 21.933355] beautiful beach, beautiful sea, the wind was not kidding here also, but the situation was a bit more under control. Bar with umbrellas, deck chairs and music on one side of the beach.

Chiliadou [N 38.393928, E 21.920803] This is also a beautiful beach. The part closest to the village is organized and more crowded, the other is still wild. Warning: it is not reachable coming from the main road to Nafpaktos because the underpass is too low. Is necessary to proceed, take a U turn and exit from the opposite direction.
During this trip I stopped only for a couple of hours in Nafpaktos (Lepanto) [N 38.392401, E 21.828379]. Just enough time to do a little shopping and for a walk in the old fortified harbor to have an ice cream, it is certainly worth more than this. One problem I noticed is that it is hard to find parking near the center. At least I did not see any suitable parking, probably with a little patience you can find a place. I just add some pictures made during this superficial visit, promising myself to return and stay the necessary time to explore the town.

On the side: a good initiative, misapplied!
The cost is definitely exaggerated, two bikes for four hours, for example, are going to cost 16 Euros, you can rent a scooter for a whole day with that money… unless I missed something 😉
