Minor so to speak, lets say that these are the ones that are probably best seen from the outside than inside, according to my humble opinion. In this post I present the other four inhabited monasteries, Agios Nikolaos Anapafsas, Roussanou, Agiou Stefanou and Agia Triada which became famous for having been the stage for shooting the James Bond movie, “For Your Eyes Only.”
These are in my opinion the two monasteries to visit for those who have little time or prefer to take advantage of the spectacular place to get some beautiful walks. At the worse the Great Meteoro is enough to get a fairly complete idea of how the other monasteries works and their very little spiritual and more touristic/museal atmosphere. Do I sound bad? It gets worse!
And so we finally reach Meteora, place to which I will dedicate a series of posts, beginning with an overview of the options for overnight stopovers, a few words about Kalambaka, the town under rocks and Kastraki, the village that rises in the middle of the rocks.
